Hey, I’m Kirk.

I’ve been a frontend developer for… well, let’s just say I started out using Dreamweaver2!

I've been building for the web for a very long time, and the truth is—I still love it. Over the years, I’ve picked up a lot of experience (and a few grey hairs), not just in code, but in leading teams, solving real-world problems, and building things that actually make a difference.

I’ve spent six years leading frontend teams across various companies - from Netralink ISP (with clients like Shoprite, YDE, and Midmar Liquors) to DFA Solutions (Heart Radio, Picardi Rebel) and Forge Technologies (Ford and Fat Yak craft beer). I've also led projects as a senior frontend dev at EOH, working on platforms for Capitec, Old Mutual, and University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Along the way, I’ve had the pleasure of working on some standout projects - like helping MTN land a Loerie nomination, contributing to a global hackathon-winning app (Food Bank Connector) that digitised stock management for UK food banks at Lab Digital, as well as leading a PWA build at Simfy Africa that boosted Ayoba’s monthly active users by 3.5 million in just three months. I've built everything from public-facing websites (750K+ monthly visits) to internal tools and cross-platform mobile interfaces.

What keeps me going? Building stuff people actually enjoy using. I’m big on accessibility, clean UI, thoughtful UX, and multi-platform usability. Whether I’m coding solo or leading a team, I’m happiest when I’m creating things that work well—and work for people.
